Featured demonstrations include threshing\, quilting\, loom weaving\, heckling flax\, churning butter\, and cooking over a fire. Artisans will be making shingles\, shoes\, candles\, and corn husk dolls. \nGuests tour the Longhouse\, a replica of the dwelling used by Native Americans before the time of European settlement in the area. Native American craftspeople and storytellers share their culture\, history\, and crafts. \nMaize and Snitz Festival is one of many interesting events on the Lancaster Roots 2019 calendar. Lancaster Roots combines the events of the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society and the 1719 Herr House & Museum. Through public presentations\, food\, music\, field trips\, and classes\, these events reveal Lancaster and its people: their stories\, culture\, and history.
