Not a Spirit of Fear…

Scripture: I Timothy 1:7, Romans 8:15

While driving my father, a lung transplant recipient and an immunocompromised 65-year-old man to the hospital in the midst of COVID-19, it was easy to be concerned.  If Dad contracted COVID-19 he probably would not live to tell about it.  However, we had little choice, Dad needed care from medical professionals.  Desperately seeking help to lift my thoughts of worry – I asked the Lord.  God dropped this very old chorus based on I Timothy 1:7 into my head.

7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. “

I am thankful that is God is PRESENT and walking with us each moment of every day, and cares enough to share a song from yesteryear to draw me out of my fear.

Romans 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba,[a] Father.”

Rest in knowing that you and I can call out Abba Father when help is needed!
