  • Canning and Trucking Manager

    The Canning and Trucking Manager will direct the MCC Mobile Canning Operations. This position encompasses significant responsibility in a number of areas: ensuring regulatory compliance with government agencies; supervising all canning and related operations; and relating to a broad and diverse set of constituents, agency officials, and MCC staff. The position directly supervises a four-person canning crew, the Material Resources, Canning and Fleet Coordinator, and relates closely to the various canning committees in the US and Canada.

    Canner operators travel with the meat canner to 34 different locations across the US and Canada, canning beef, turkey, chicken, and pork. Canners are responsible for all aspects of the project including operating steam and pressure vessels, coordinating volunteers, maintaining and communicating USDA regulations, and the maintenance of all machinery in the canning process. Lifelong relationships are forged, opening new doors for life after canning. MCC prefers to place 2 Canners per year. The Canning Team is comprised of four individuals, typically 2 in their first year and 2 in their second.

    The LMC office is accepting applications for the position of Intercultural Leadership Minister. This is a full-time position. This individual will pursue justice through helping LMC to dismantle racism, equip leaders to become interculturally competent, promote and develop resources and tools to equip all followers of Jesus.

    • A bachelor’s degree in a related field such as in the areas of peace and justice studies, sociology or community ministry development, or equivalent intercultural experience is required.
    • Applicants should also have at least three years of leadership experience.
    • The ideal candidate will be willing to travel and network with various ethnic groups.
    • This person must be an active participant in an LMC congregation.
    • Strong administrative skills are required as well as the ability to build teams and engage with existing prayer and leadership teams.
