Facilitators: Anne Kaufman Weaver, MSW, M.Div., CEC and R. Todd Weaver, DMD
This normal life cycle that includes the living of our days, losing relationships or routines, and resurrecting into new patterns seems to have sped up or in some cases dragged on during the year-long pandemic and social turmoil. Anne will offer practices to put in place during any phase of living…losing…and resurrecting you find yourself in. Todd will join Anne to offer songs of comfort and hope. Participants should bring their own paper and writing utensil.
Title: Caring for Self While in the Trenches of Caring for Others
Facilitator: Dave Musser, LMFT; LMC Bishop
During this session, we will explore the streams of thought that can flow into a caregiver’s life that makes self-care difficult. These streams of thought can lead to being overextended or doing too much for others. We will challenge these streams of thought and work toward replacing them with new thoughts based on Scripture.
Title: Grieving the Gap, Holding Hope
Facilitators: Karl Landis, MA in Theology, PhD; Lead Pastor at Mt Joy
Mennonite Church and Nita Landis, Trained Spiritual Director; Certificate in Formational Prayer. The lives of leaders often include a heavy grief load—their own personal grief, the grief of others, and the grief unique to leadership. How does a spiritually mature leader handle grief? Listen to a brief presentation and then engage in the spiritual practice of lament, which includes both grieving and holding hope.
Title: Genuine Concern for Each Other – Acts 2:40-47; 4:32-37
Facilitator: Al Motley, LMC Bishop and Pastor at Way Thru Christ Church
During this session, we will be discussing how to care for congregants and leaders during this Pandemic. We will also be leaning into the new opportunities that are being given by the Holy Spirit in this season.
