LMC Child Protection Training Information

All LMC congregations are required to offer Child Protection Training for anyone working with children or youth up to age 18.

Below are the recommended training and resources for your congregation.

1. State-approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training for Mandated Reporters can be accessed through the Pennsylvania Child Welfare Resource Center. This free 3–hour online training option is available at https://www.reportabusepa.pitt.edu/. All LMC credentialed leaders are required to take this training.
2. Safe Communities provides online and onsite resources and training. Some of these resources are free to LMC congregations through the generosity of the LMC Legacy Foundation grant. Safe Communities also offers fee-for-service training and consulting options. Their virtual training options can be accessed HERE.
