Intercultural Embrace

One of LMC’s Core Values is Intercultural Embrace: Relating to all peoples with God’s heart. We recognize the times throughout our history where we have fallen short of this vision. However, we are committed going forward to embrace and celebrate our intercultural diversity.

To this end, we’ve appointed Bishop Al Motley as our Intercultural Navigator. In his role, he prophetically teaches and speaks on the importance of this value and how we see it throughout Scripture. He is also leading efforts in creating and multiplying intercultural trainings and seminars to help all members of LMC grow in this area of discipleship.

Intercultural Embrace Seminar

From Coexistence to Covenant

On Saturday, November 21, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Oxford Circle Mennonite Church will host an Intercultural Embrace Seminar.

This seminar will be a formational experience. It will explore topics like The Pews that Didn’t Move, the Biblical Mandate for Diversity, Cultural Humility and Self-Awareness, Communication Across Cultures, Lament and Reconciliation, and Covenant Building. At this point, this seminar is for the New York City and Philadelphia districts; however, future seminars will be available to a broader audience.

We are looking forward to this first Intercultural Embrace Seminar! We anticipate it will open the door for future trainings and seminars to be available to the whole of our LMC family! Please keep this work and Intercultural Navigator Al Motley in your prayers.
