Reflections: The Apostle Paul had an experience like no other. Instantly blinded and eyesight restored, the risen Christ stood illuminated in a vision in all His glory. Paul saw deeply into the mysterious purposes of God. As a bond-servant of Christ and a prisoner in Rome, he sure knew how to pray for the church! Like much of the world, I’m hunkered down at home. Nevertheless, am I bowing my knees before the Father? This question cuts deeply between the bones and marrow. When I pray for the church today, I do not want to be kicking against the goads.
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. ~Ephesians 3:14-15 NRSV
