The range of what we do as LMC is wide and formed intentionally to empower bishops, pastors, congregations, and individuals. Everything we do is designed to drive our mission forward of being a Spirit-led movement that is making disciples of Jesus, mobilizing every member as a missionary, and multiplying faith communities locally and beyond. In order to fulfill this mission, we are engaged in all the following areas:
Bishops gather together for fellowship and worship; equipping, training, and teaching; sharing vision; and forming a relational network for them as they are in a unique, vulnerable position of leadership.
We provide support for bishops so they are healthy and equipped to provide pastoral oversight and support to districts and pastors.
STEP is a three-year ministry training program held through a cohort model. RadiX is an online training platform with both live and self-paced courses available.
We provide these programs so that both congregations and leaders can continue to grow in their faith and knowledge.
We recognize the body of Christ is made up of all people groups and languages. We value learning how to live in unity with one another, while recognizing the fullness of beauty our differences offer our community.
We offer this type of training so that congregations and leaders are equipped to reach new generations and people groups.
A process where leaders’ calling and formation in Christ is understood. The Credentialing Commission team helps the leader discern how the work of the Spirit in their life forms their ministry. Credentialing affirms the leader’s calling.
We offer credentialing so that leaders are affirmed, safeguards and accountability are put in place, and there is assurance they are in theological alignment with Anabaptist tradition.
We offer Education Grants, Ministry Grants, and Pastoral Health and Wellness Grants.
We offer these grants so that congregations, credentialed leaders, and members of our conference are invested in, new ministries and opportunities are encouraged and supported, and pastoral health and wellness is supported.
Together we work with EMM to develop international relationships. Whereas EMM helps invest and build up the church in other parts of the world, once they become self-sustaining, LMC continues the relationships as brothers and sisters.
We invest in global relationships so there is open dialogue, partnerships, and accessible learning for the whole of our LMC community. We do this with a Kingdom-mindset, that God’s heart is for all nations.
Throughout the year we host a variety of different events, including Spring and Fall Leadership Assemblies, Assembly (formerly Celebration of Church Life), Newly Credentialed Leaders Orientation, youth leaders events, retreats, etc.
These events are held so that new relationships are formed among our constituents, reminding us we are joined together on mission, and so that our vision and mission are communicated well.
At the office, we employ a small yet nimble staff that makes everything else we do possible.
We onboard and fairly compensate our staff, so they can focus their efforts on supporting Bishops, pastors, and churches, and assist all initiatives.
We provide training and enrichment opportunities for disciples and leaders each year through our classes and reading groups on Scripture, theology, and history.
We devote attention to our theological alignment so we can assure we are consistently aligned with God’s mission and with Anabaptist identity and tradition.
Leadership supports bishops so they can come alongside congregations who are dealing with areas of conflict or transition.
We provide this service to our congregations so that the Church remains healthy and continues to grow.
We come alongside pastors and pioneers to give them training and resourcing to plant new churches and missional expressions.
We help in the efforts of planting new congregations and missional expressions of church so the Church can continue to grow and we are better prepared for new approaches and a new future.
