Join us for LMC’s Winter Bible School each January-February! We gather to do in-depth Bible study and practical application. This year a donation of $35 is welcome.
Our class: This year we will focus on the book of Psalms. We’ll begin by looking at the Psalter, Israel’s prayer book, as a whole, and then spend time studying and reflecting on a variety of selected psalms. We’ll look at the artistry, imagery, and emotions of the psalms, considering their implications for our own walks with God. In addition, we’ll focus on what the psalms teach us about God, humanity, creation, and God’s larger plan of redemption through Jesus.
Our teacher: Phil Bollinger serves as the pastor at Gingrichs Mennonite Church and as an Associate Professor of Biblical Studies (Old Testament) at Kairos University. Phil completed his doctoral studies at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion along with his wife, Sarah. Prior to his doctoral work, Phil studied at Moody Bible Institute and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He also spent a year abroad at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, where he met Sarah. Phil and Sarah began their teaching career at Evangelical Seminary (Myerstown, PA), which merged with Kairos University in 2022. Phil and Sarah have two sons David and Asher. Phil loves helping people see and know the heart and character of God through the Old Testament.
