Sisters and Brothers of the Bishop Board and CEC

It is day 5 of a new era.  Some things will stay the same and some things will change.  In this new time, the Bishop Elders Team will be implementing new ways of communicating.  We are going to experiment with taking turns each week to write an email with what is on our hearts to share with you.  My email, below, reflects on this first week of being in a new era.     

I just glanced up at the monitor hanging above the LMC offices and saw a picture of Keith Weaver having his feet propped up and drinking a cup of coffee.  Last Friday each of the staff brought a cup of coffee for Keith.  He decided it was not healthy to drink it all at once and took several cups home to heat up the next day.  

It is a bit surreal to not see Keith Weaver in the office.  It also feels as if the Spirit has been moving and forming the BE Team over the past four months to transition us into this new role.  Our feet are on the ground and things are moving forward.  We realize there are a lot of items, tasks, and routines that we need to manage while also praying, discerning, and seeking the Spirit’s leading to lead us into God’s future for LMC.  We will make mistakes.  We will not always get it right.  This is going to take all of us together seeking first the Kingdom of God in the calling to be a Spirit-led movement.  All of us offer grace, counsel, and hold one another in the bond of Christ’s love.  

If you want to chat or have a question or want a cup of coffee; reach out.  We are here.  We are also going to be reaching out to you.  We need to learn to know each district, learn to know the pastors, and hear what God is doing.  It will take time.  So in the meantime, let’s continue to move forward into being a Spirit-led movement where God has planted us.  

May Christ grant you all that you need to flourish in the calling God has placed upon your life.

Hermanas y Hermanos de la Junta de Obispos y CEC

 Es el día 5 de una nueva era. Algunas cosas permanecerán igual y otras cambiarán. En este nuevo tiempo, el Equipo de Obispos Ancianos implementará nuevas formas de comunicación. Vamos a experimentar turnándonos cada semana para escribir un correo electrónico con lo que tenemos en el corazón para compartir con ustedes. Mi correo electrónico, a continuación, refleja esta primera semana de estar en una nueva era.

Simplemente miré el monitor que colgaba sobre las oficinas de LMC y vi una foto de Keith Weaver con los pies sobre su escritorio y bebiendo una taza de café. El viernes pasado, cada miembro del personal trajo una taza de café para Keith. Decidió que no era saludable beberlo todo de una vez y se llevó varias tazas a casa para calentarlas al día siguiente.

 Es un poco surrealista no ver a Keith Weaver en la oficina. También se siente como si el Espíritu se hubiera estado moviendo y formando el Equipo de BE durante los últimos cuatro meses para hacernos la transición a este nuevo trabajo. Nuestros pies están en el suelo y las cosas van avanzando. Nos damos cuenta de que hay muchos elementos, tareas y rutinas que debemos manejar al mismo tiempo que oramos, discernimos y buscamos la guía del Espíritu para guiarnos hacia el futuro de Dios para LMC. Cometeremos errores. No siempre lo haremos bien. Esto nos llevará a todos juntos a buscar primero el Reino de Dios en el llamado a ser un movimiento guiado por el Espíritu. Todos nosotros ofrecemos gracia, consejo y nos mantenemos unos a otros en el vínculo del amor de Cristo.

Necesitamos aprender a conocer cada distrito, aprender a conocer a los pastores y escuchar lo que Dios está haciendo. Tomará tiempo. Entonces, mientras tanto, sigamos avanzando para convertirnos en un movimiento guiado por el Espíritu donde Dios nos ha plantado.

 Que Cristo te conceda todo lo que necesitas para florecer en el llamado que Dios ha puesto en tu vida.
