As I reflect back on the Celebration of Church Life – CCL weekend,March 31 – April 1 there is a warm stirring in my heart; a sense of God’s smile and God’s favor upon us as a fellowship of Anabaptist Churches. The truth is that anything good that happens among us in LMC is because of God’s grace and goodness; not our brilliant efforts. So, I bask in this sense of God’s favor and blessing!
As I shared in the three plenary sessions during this weekend and looked out of the faces of those in attendance, I saw something. I saw a hunger for more of God; for more of His presence among us. I felt God stirring something deep and profound among us. It was palpable. I don’t want us to lose what God deposited among us.
I’m also aware of the fact that many of you as leaders and your congregations were not able to participate in this event. But I’m trusting that God will do something that I cannot do . . . Take the essence of what was deposited in our midst and multiply it into the lives of others in LMC; those who were not able to attend. That is what the Spirit of God does as we open ourselves to His work and ministry.
One of the ways this can happen is through the recorded sessions from CCL. These are now up on the LMC website, along with other sessions from Spring Leadership Assembly & Celebration of Church Life. Below the link to these three plenary sessions in Youtube.

I’d encourage you to watch these sessions and share them with others in your congregations. We also printed a Tryptic (three paintings presented together) that was handed out as a resource with Visio Divina reflection questions on the back of the card. The 750 we printed quickly were snatched up by congregational leaders present AND we are getting ready to print more of them. If you’d like a copy of this tryptic, or would like to use them in your congregation, please let us know. We’ll do what we can to get them into your hands. Let’s spread the news that the Spirit of God is on the move in LMC. Let’s keep our eyes open for the new ways that God is revealing Himself in our midst. Let’s join with this new move of the Spirit and with expectancy embrace the new things that God is doing in our midst! Let’s learn to walk in the Spirit as the Apostle Paul exhorted the church in Galatia to do:
“But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts]. For the sinful nature has its desire which is opposed to the Spirit, and the [desire of the] Spirit opposes the sinful nature; for these [two, the sinful nature and the Spirit] are in direct opposition to each other [continually in conflict], so that you [as believers] do not [always] do whatever [good things] you want to do. But if you are guided and led by the Spirit, you are not subject to the Law.” – Galatians 5:16-18 AMP
Paul’s call to walk in the Spirit has really been stirring deeply in me these days. Numerous times since the CCL weekend I’ve spent time personally and with others mediating on this passage and God has been speaking to me in so many ways through this chapter . . . Build Your Church Lord!

“La invitación . . . Solo sigue . . . Siempre más”
Mientras reflexiono sobre la Celebración de la Vida de la Iglesia – fin de semana de la CCL, del 31 de marzo al 1 de abril, hay una cálida conmoción en mi corazón; un sentido de la sonrisa de Dios y el favor de Dios sobre nosotros como comunidad de iglesias Anabautista. La verdad es que todo lo bueno que sucede entre nosotros en LMC es por la gracia y bondad de Dios; no nuestros brillantes esfuerzos. Entonces, ¡disfruto de este sentido del favor y la bendición de Dios!
Mientras compartí en las tres sesiones plenarias durante este fin de semana y miré los rostros de los asistentes, vi algo. Vi un hambre por más de Dios; más de Su presencia entre nosotros. Sentí que Dios movía algo profundo y profundo entre nosotros. Era palpable. No quiero que perdamos lo que Dios depositó entre nosotros.

El llamado de Pablo a caminar en el Espíritu realmente me ha conmovido profundamente en estos días. Numerosas veces desde el fin de semana de CCL he pasado tiempo personalmente y con otros meditando sobre este pasaje y Dios me ha estado hablando de muchas maneras a través de este capítulo. . . ¡Construye tu Iglesia Señor!
