“The Morning After” often carries negative connotations in our world, but Scripture shines a brighter light, guiding us to seek clear direction (Ps. 143:8), experience joy in the morning (Ps. 30:5), and embrace fresh starts (Lam. 3:22-23). We are promised that we can encounter our resurrected Lord (John 11:25-26).
At Assembly ’26 at Millersville University, I encountered Jesus in profound ways through the words and actions of many. I and the other LMC staff were encouraged to approach Assembly with extravagant hospitality, a call that resonated deeply with me. While I recognize my own strength is limited day-by-day, praise the Lord that his Holy Spirit knows no bounds!
During Sunday worship, Nick Scott from New Zealand shared a compelling prophetic vision he saw for LMC about a cup of unity. The imagery of that cup overflowing as we drink from it filled my heart with hope. What might it mean for us to embrace this unity until it overflows? While the answer is yet to be fully revealed, I believe that as LMC continues on this path, the movement will be magnificent beyond our imagination.
As I walked across the parking lot heading home from Millersville on the last day, with a painful blister on my foot, a young man representing Rosedale Bible College stopped to express his gratitude for my kindness. His words touched me deeply; what we say to one another significantly impacts our unity.
My prayer is that, as we reflect on the stories from Assembly earlier this year, we focus on the Lord’s goodness rather than on minor inconveniences or discomforts. I am grateful for the beautiful ways generations of Jesus followers came together at Millersville University, and I eagerly anticipate hearing from others about their experiences.
