Pastor David is from the Vietnam Mennonite Church. He is an important younger leader in this fast growing network of churches and is the pastor of a small group of house churches in Da Nang. He is passionate about seeing people come to Christ and finding creative ways to share the Gospel. One way he does this is by inviting neighbors over for a celebration of their birthdays, where he and others from his churches find ways to connect and share the gospel.
Pastor David joined the STEP program in 2025. He has said that STEP has helped him become a better preacher and communicator. Additionally, it has helped him to grow in his ability to provide pastoral care to his church family and neighbors. He has been a dedicated student, staying up all night for each Saturday session, given the twelve-hour time difference between Vietnam and the US.
Pastor David grew up in a Christian home where he witnessed his father being imprisoned for his faith. He met his wife at college where he majored in Education. He has studied English extensively and has served as a translator on many different occasions, including for Gerry Keener when he teaches in Vietnam.
We were thrilled to welcome Pastor David to the LMC and EMM offices on Friday, September 4. He had an opportunity to tour the building and meet some of his STEP instructors. We continue to pray for him and for the other leaders in the Vietnam Mennonite Church.
